Cardboard Palm
Zamia Furfuracea
Cardboard palms have been around since the time of dinosaurs. This Native of Mexico has leathery oval leaves that are tough and feel just like cardboard. It is commonly used in the tropics and South Florida because they’re low maintenance, rugged, and can tolerate long periods of drought. They are also resilient enough to be used as a houseplant, but will grow a lot slower indoors.
